As it is known, the real estate value requested in order to apply for Turkish citizenship was reduced from 1 million USD (USD) to 250 thousand dollars with the regulation introduced on 18 September 2018. In the Presidential Cabinet chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the value of the real estate that must be purchased for exceptional Turkish citizenship was discussed in order to increase the value of the relevant real estate to at least 400 thousand dollars for Turkish citizenship applications to be made through real estate purchase.
At the Cabinet Meeting, it was decided to increase the value of the real estate to be purchased for an exceptional application for Turkish citizenship from 250 thousand dollars to 400 thousand dollars. The decision is expected to enter into force after its publication in the Official Gazette.
With the entry into force of the relevant regulation, foreigners who purchase a property worth at least 400 thousand US Dollars (USD) or in foreign currency, on the condition that it is not sold for 3 years in the land registry, will be able to acquire Turkish citizenship by the President's Decision.
